Where in the World is Annalisa Zoanetti?

It has been a while since we updated you all on the progress of Annalisa – this year is just going so quick!

Those of you that followed the action at the 2009 Australian Championship, already know that Annalisa and her partner, Julian Tocker, represent Ireland and made the semi-final at the Aussies. Not bad after only four months together.

They of course did return back to their base in London, where they are coached mainly by Brian Watson & Carmen.  They both teach at Karen Hardy Studios and make use of opportunities to work with Karen when they can.

In January they competed in the UK Open, narrowly missing out on the quarter final of the Amateur Rising Star Latin. 

There is obviously a requirement to compete at the Irish competitions in order to be eligible to represent Ireland at the World Championships.  Annalisa & Julian claimed top spot in their first Irish event, beating the current Irish champions. Annalisa and Julian aim to represent Ireland at the 2010 IDSF Latin World Championships held in New York.

Next to teaching and working hard to support themselves in a very competitive environment, they have to spend many hours practicing and training to be able to match it with the best.

They have managed to get some sponsorship support from Ray Rose Shoes, let’s hope they manage to get more sponsors on board soon – every bit helps.

I certainly look forward to seeing them again soon!

Just got word that Annalisa & Julian placed second at the Irish competition on Sunday 21 March 2010. Great result given they almost didn’t compete due to Julian having a chest infection.

Congratulations to you both and a speedy recovery to Julian.
