Bill Lau

Bill Lau is arguably one of the greatest supporters of DanceSport and Wheelchair Dance Sport. Meet the man who has given so much to so many.

Next to being the Chairman of the H.K.I.A.A.B.D (Hong Kong International Association for the Advancement of Ballroom Dancesport) and a major driver behind the Wheelchair Dance Sport movement, Bill can be seen at most major Dancesport events, including Blackpool, UK Open and now for a number of years, the Australian Dancesport Championship.

Bill is recognised as one of the instrumental figures to promote Wheelchair Dance Sport, both in Hong Kong and internationally, and his efforts and support for both DanceSport and Wheelchair Dance Sport have earned him worldwide respect.

Bill and his team run a major event in Hong Kong that combines competitions for Juniors all the way up to the Professionals. The field of competitors includes some of the top ranking couples in the world, judged by some of the world's best known coaches and adjudicators.

The Hong Kong Wheelchair Dance Sport Festival
The HKIAABD Cup Hong Kong International Open Ballroom Dance Competition

This year, Bill was also the organiser for the two day event in Beijing, 21-22 March, where the Wheelchair Dance Competition and the Asian Ballroom Competitions were held.
