Opening Floorshow for Nabba SA&
WFF Sept
2009
Andrea and I were invited to be the opening floor show for the 2009
National Amateur Body Building Association SA & WFF Championships, held at the Norwood Town
Hall.
This was an excellent show, extremely well
organised and they had a very supportive crowd.
We shared the change room facilities with
the Body Building competitors, and I will never complain about tanning again! These guys and girls really go the
distance, some with support crews of 2 or 3, slapping on the tan until they are really, really, really
dark!
Stepping onto the stage for our turn, I can
understand why. Now these are lights! I think my retina detached in the first 3 seconds. Nice and warm too, I
was well and truly cooked half way through our first dance.
So not only did I look like an albino compared to the Body Builders, I also felt like the Milky Bar kid next to all
these herculean bodies. It’s a good thing Andrea looked stunning, so nobody was looking at me!

The floor wasn’t exactly made for Latin
American dancing, a “little” on the slippery side, slightly sloping to the front. I always wanted to dance on a
slippery dip. We did get through our routines OK, albeit with the odd slip and slide.

I figured while I am here I might as well
have a go competing, but the organiser told me that they dispensed with the “Pale Rider Noodle Arm” division.
Well…. If I can’t mix it with the boys,
maybe I could match it with the girls. Turns out my bikini doesn’t match regulation standards – DOH! Perhaps a
good thing – these girls have bigger guns then me!

This was a great show and we had a ton of
fun.
