There is nothing quite like the Glitz 'n Glamour of a dancing competition. This
is where you get to test your skills against couples of similar age and / or skill
level.
While a number of competitions have a
social section, where anyone can have a go, the greatest action is in the Dancesport
events.
Dancesport is the
governing body for Latin American, Standard and New Vogue here in Australia. You can find out about
Dancesport here.
There is plenty of choice when it comes to competition. In Adelaide there are a number of
"grass-roots" local events, Championships and State Titles. For those who want more, there are plenty
more events interstate and three major National Championships.

The Australian Dancesport Championship is the event where the representatives for the World
Championships in Ballroom and Latin are selected.
The 10 Dance World Championship representatives are selected at the South Pacific
Dancesport Championships.
Still want more? Don't worry, Dancesport is a truly international sport and there are plenty of events around the world, including Grand
Slams and World Championships.
